Pro And Cons Of Being A Working Mom

Over 23.5 million mothers are working, out of which three quarters have children under 18 years old and who work full time. These mothers have ages 30 to 49, which makes 76 percent of total working mothers. These mothers may have a good job and a satisfying salary, but that does not mean that they have a good life. Most of them want to spend time with their children and want to relax a bit. Keep reading this article to learn what a mother sacrifices when she is working and about the pros and cons of a working mother.

Pros and Cons:

A working mother may provide her children with everything except for time which is the only way to reduce the communication gap between the mother and her children. Following are some pros and cons of being a working mother:

Pros:

  • You are not isolated:

If you are a working mother, you will not be isolated from the world as compared to the mothers working at home. You can meet different people that can be your friends, colleagues, clients, etc., and observe various natures of people.

  • You can provide for your children:

If you are a working mother, you will be earning. You can spend more money on your children and not only fulfill their wishes but also fulfill their needs such as education, medical check-ups, etc. You can go on different trips and journies and spend more time with your children.

  • Your life is more balanced:

Your life is more balanced if you are a working mother. You have a balanced amount of time being an adult, and you can also give time to your little ones. Going completely to one side may lead to the loss of your identity, and you might lose who you were when you did not have a job or when you did not have children.

Cons:

  • You can miss out:

If you are a working mother, you might miss out on a lot of small events like missing your little one's first word, maybe even your little one's first walk, etc. So, you might miss out on a lot of things if you are going on an 8 to 10-hour job.

  • "Tired" is an understatement:

A working mother's day is never over, and rest is never a part of their dictionary. When you come back home from an 8-hour job, there are house responsibilities that demand your attention.

  • Your child does not want you to go:

Sometimes due to a short time, you have to leave your child crying just because the little one does not want you to go. It is really tough for a working mother to handle this.

Conclusion:

Working and being a mother as well is not easy. You have to have a balanced schedule for both your job life as well as your personal life.
